Carson Bolemon

A huge riser throughout the summer, Bolemon has solidified himself as one of the top left handers in the class, and the most polished out of the big three. Bolemon hasn't shied away from the big moment, and it feels like he performs at legitimately every single event. He's a competitor with a bulldog mentality, a guy you want to hand the ball to in a big game.

Bolemon shows an intriguing four pitch mix, with some deception in the delivery, hiding the ball well, and showing ability to consistently fill up the zone. It's a broad chested, physical 6 foot 4 frame, and Bolemon uses his body extremely well with easy and repeatable mechanics. Bolemon's fastball lives in the low 90s, and is up to 95 with riding life up in the zone that he shows excellent feel to command to both sides of the plate. It comes from a tough down hill angle with plenty of backspin, getting on top of barrels at the top rail. Bolemon is best known for his two breaking balls, which both look like plus offerings. The curveball might be the best out of any high school arm in the class, as it shows significant downward action, and hitters consistently whiff and swing on top of the pitch. It sits in the low 80's and Bolemon shows a ton of confidence in the pitch, as he can throw it in any count. The slider shows some sharp sweep, and tunnels well of his other pitches. It sits in the mid 80's, with spin rates north of 2,500 rpms. Bolemon also throws a changeup, but utilizes it less and tends to drop his arm slot slightly on the pitch, however it plays well of his fastball and gets some whiffs against right handers.

Bolemon is old for the class, as he will turn 19 a few month before draft day. It feels Like Bolemon's stock is only continuing the trend in the right direction, as he looks like a he has a chance to be one of the first arms of the board come July with a strong spring.
