Ace Reese
Scouting Report
A standout at Houston as a freshman, Reese transferred to Mississippi State for his sophomore year where he made a name for himself as one of the more dangerous hitters in the SEC.
Reese generates loud power from a long limbed 6 foot 4 frame. It's a loose and athletic left handed swing, with a barrel that flies through the zone with considerable ease. Its almost astounding how effortless the power is here. Reese is great at pulling the ball in the air, something that contributed to his 21 total homeruns throughout his 2025 campaign, and helps him project for plus power going forward. The in zone contact rates are strong, as Reese does a great job adjusting to spin and ambushing fastballs inside the zone. The only complaint in the offensive game come in the approach, as Reese can tend to chase at times, limiting his walk numbers. It's still an extremely mature offensive profile backed by a strong track record across two collegiate seasons.
There are some question marks defensively, as Reese has played both third base, and left field throughout his time at Mississippi State. He's a fringe average runner, and the arm is fringy, leading some scouts to think he profiles best in a corner outfield spot or at first base should third not work out. Should Reese establish a defensive home and continue showing offensive strides, he has the ceiling of a top 10 pick, as the bat will make him one of the more highly touted collegiate names in the draft class.
